Rotary International President John Kenny is featured speaker

Founded only a day apart in February of 1910, the Rotary Clubs of St. Paul and Minneapolis gathered on February 19, 2010 to jointly celebrate their centennials.  On hand to congratulate the clubs on their first century of service was Rotary International President, John Kenny, of Grangemouth, Scotland.

The joint meeting rekindles a tradition that began in the first years of the two clubs' history but which lapsed as the Twin Cities grew and Rotary International moved the clubs into different Districts. "We hope this joint celebration will be the staring point for future join efforts of two of Rotary's older and larger clubs.", notes St. Paul Rotary President, Doug Hartford.

Over 320 Rotarians from the two clubs and Dsitricts 5950 and 5960 attended the luncheon which was held at the McNamara Alumni Center on the Unversity of Minnesota Campus. Highlight of the event was a toast to clean water given by President Kenny.
