MAY 24, 2016 MEETING:
Offsite Meeting at CHS Field

A reminder that the 5/24 Club 10 meeting will be at  CHS Field, not at the Intercontinental.

MAY 24, 2016 PROGRAM:
George Washington Action Hero

Author Steve Yoch is a highly rated speaker who has written Becoming George Washington and has received wide praise and extensive media coverage, including selection as "fall read" by the Pioneer Press.  Yoch will share the largely unknown story of how an insecure fatherless boy rises to become our indispensable founding father. A far cry from the powdered haired General or President presented in most Washington biographies, Yoch's engaging speech reveals young George through repeated harrowing battles in the French & Indian War as well as discussing the highly controversial, although well documented, affair between Washington and Sally Fairfax.

Steve Yoch is a Minnesota boy who went to Boston College and then returned home to the University of Minnesota to go to law school.

When Steve is not writing his book, he is an attorney and partner at Felhaber Larson.  He represents a broad range of small and medium sized companies on complex business matters, both in and out of court.  Steve is also a Trustee of the Mounds View School Foundation.  He and his wife Andrea have two wonderful teenage sons.

Volunteer for Rotary Meeting Teams!

Thanks to a recommendation from Jodi, I have used Volunteer Spot to set up all of the volunteer opportunities for our upcoming meetings. So the answer to "how do I get to help out at the meeting?" is "follow this link and sign up."

http://vols.pt/hd7EGu

Or call me at 651.767.8497 (for those of you who prefer the phone).

You do not need to create yet another login and there are no passwords to remember! Just follow the link, confirm your email and start signing up for meeting teams. Volunteer Spot will send you reminders, and will let me know where the needs are for upcoming meetings. Attention new members: serving as a greeter and taking the microphone, either to offer the inspirational moment or to introduce guests and visiting Rotarians, is an excellent way to network and get your face in front of the club!

We are in particular need of scribes (note takers). There are three simple steps to taking the notes:
1) use the word document agenda you'll receive as your template - half of the information is already there!
2) Fill in a paragraph or two on the speaker and
3) email your notes to Jodi by end of day Wednesday.

(And you thought I was making it look like hard work!)

Thank you for whatever you can do to to make our weekly meetings a great experience!
